Following the successful completion of the compressor overhauling, Chiller 1 was inspected and observed to be experiencing refrigerant flooding. The issue was identified as requiring replacement of the Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) to restore proper refrigerant flow and ensure stable chiller operation.

Scope of Work

• Recover the existing refrigerant from the chiller system in accordance with applicable safety and environmental requirements.

• Isolate and remove the existing faulty TXV.

• Supply and install a new TXV (0VE-90-N).

• Carry out necessary copper piping/brazing works associated with the TXV replacement.

• Pressure-test the system using nitrogen to check for leakage.

• Identify and repair any leakage found during the pressure test.

• Evacuate the refrigeration system to the required vacuum level as per applicable standards.

• Charge the system with the recovered/specified refrigerant and top up as required.

• Start and operate the chiller after completion of the repair.

• Check and record the chiller operating parameters to verify proper system performance.

• Monitor the system for stable operation and confirm that the refrigerant flooding issue has been rectified.

• Clean the work area and remove any waste generated during the work.
