Scope Of Work:
1. Supply
- Provide
insulating rubber mats rated for safe use in LV switchgear rooms, suitable
for personnel standing in front of live or potentially live equipment.
- Mat
characteristics:
- Minimum
thickness: 3 mm (or as specified).
- Surface
finish: ribbed or anti-slip.
- Width:
minimum 1 m, and extend at least 1 m beyond the total width of each LV
panel section.
- Mats
shall carry permanent markings including: class/rating,
manufacturer name, batch/lot number, voltage rating.
- Provide
product datasheet and material compliance certificate for
review/approval prior to installation.
- Ensure
materials comply with DEWA’s requirement for equipment and materials: all
equipment and materials shall be selected in accordance with “Standards
for equipment and materials” in DEWA’s Regulations for Electrical
Installations.
2. Preparation
- Inspect
the LV room floor area: verify floor is dry, level, structurally sound,
free of oil/grease, debris, sharp edges or protrusions.
- Confirm
that the layout of mats is coordinated with the client/consultant and
aligns with the switchgear arrangement.
- Provide
or review layout drawing showing the mat arrangement in front of each
panel for client/consultant approval.
- Carry-out
any floor repair, cleaning or priming necessary so that mat adhesion (if
required) is effective.
3. Installation
- Roll
out and place the insulating mats in front of the LV switchgear/MCC panels
ensuring full coverage of the designated zone.
- Ensure
mats lie flat, with no folds, wrinkles, bulges or gaps. Overlap joints if
required using manufacturer-approved method.
- Fix
mats to prevent slipping – using non-conductive adhesive or mechanical
edge strips as specified by the mat manufacturer.
- Ensure
all markings remain visible after installation.
- Ensure
installation is done without damage (cuts, punctures) to the mats; rectify
any defects prior to testing.
- Confirm
that workmanship is “neat, orderly and in a workmanlike manner”,
consistent with DEWA’s workmanship requirement.
4. Inspection & Testing
- Conduct
visual inspection: verify alignment, coverage, condition, and visible
markings.
- Where
required by project specification, perform dielectric (insulation) test of
the mats or verify that manufacturer’s test certificates apply.
- Prepare
and submit an installation completion report including: photos of
installed mats, compliance certificates.
- Coordinate
with site FM team for final inspection and approval.
Warranty- 3 Years
Terms & Condition
No Subcontracting: In accordance to Jointly Owned Property Law No.6,2019, Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement, the vendor/contractor may not use any subcontractor to perform any of his obligations under this work order. Unless:
(a) Vendor has obtained the prior written consent of SAGA to the use of the subcontractor, and
(b) Vendor has entered into a separate written agreement with the subcontractor which requires the subcontractor to agree to and abide by all the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
The Community shall be deemed to be a third-party beneficiary of any such agreement between the vendor and a permitted subcontractor.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the vendor shall not be relieved of any of its duties or obligations under this Agreement as a result of entering into a written agreement with a permitted subcontractor.
