Supply & Installation of Dosing Pumps & Circulation Pumps
Location: FIRE PUMP ROOM & TRANSFER PUMP ROOM (2 no’s Dosing pump & 4 no’s Circulation pump)
Site Assessment and Preparation
· Conduct a detailed site assessment to evaluate the current configuration of the main water tank, verify spatial constraints, and assess compatibility with the proposed chemical dosing system.
· Review and analyze the existing electrical and plumbing infrastructure to determine the necessary modifications or enhancements required for seamless integration of the new system.
· Ensure full adherence to applicable health, safety, and regulatory codes and standards prior to initiating any installation or commissioning activities.
· Liaise with building management to coordinate scheduling and execution of works, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing building operations and occupant services.
Dismantling of Existing Dosing System & Water Circulation Pump
· Isolate and disconnect electrical power supply to the dosing and circulation pumps from their respective control panels, ensuring adherence to lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
· Drain residual chemicals from the dosing system and ensure safe disposal in strict accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines and local environmental regulations.
· Carefully dismantle and remove the existing chemical dosing pump, domestic water circulation pump, and associated accessories, taking precautionary measures to prevent chemical spillage and avoid damage to adjacent equipment or infrastructure.
· Disconnect all related plumbing connections, including suction and discharge lines, isolation valves, and fittings, while ensuring system pressure is fully relieved prior to disassembly.
Safe Chemical Handling and Storage
· Ensure that chemical storage tanks are positioned within a designated, secure area equipped with compliant secondary containment trays or bunds to mitigate the risk of leaks or accidental chemical spills.
· Affix appropriate chemical identification labels to all storage containers and maintain up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for each dosing chemical in accordance with applicable hazardous material handling regulations.
· Install readily accessible spill response kits and, where required, provide emergency decontamination facilities such as eyewash stations and safety showers in proximity to the chemical dosing area, in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
· Ensure that all personnel engaged in the installation and commissioning activities are properly equipped with and consistently utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, protective clothing, and safety footwear, as per site-specific risk assessments.
· Strictly enforce the mandatory use of PPE during all high-risk tasks, such as chemical transfer, calibration of the dosing system, and functional testing of equipment, to mitigate exposure to hazardous substances and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Supply and Installation of pumps and piping connections
· Supply and install two (2) chemical dosing pump systems specifically designed for domestic water treatment applications, ensuring compatibility with the building’s existing potable water infrastructure and compliance with relevant water quality standards.
· Supply and install four (4) domestic water circulation pump systems suitable for continuous operation in water treatment processes within the domestic water supply network, ensuring optimal flow and pressure conditions are maintained.
· Ensure all mechanical joints are leak-proof by utilizing appropriate sealing methods, including certified sealing compounds, gaskets, or flanged connections, to preserve system integrity and prevent chemical or water leakage.
· Integrate each dosing pump with its respective chemical storage tank and connect it to the existing water distribution system, ensuring accurate dosing into the flow line. Similarly, connect each water circulation pump to the existing plumbing network, maintaining alignment with hydraulic design parameters and minimizing disruption to current system operations.
Electrical and Control System
· Install a new electrical control panel to manage the operation of the dosing and circulation pumps, equipped with all necessary safety provisions, including circuit breakers, isolators, status indicators, and emergency stop functions, in accordance with local electrical codes and standards.
· Configure the dosing system for automatic operation, incorporating timer-based or sensor-based control logic (e.g., flow, conductivity, or pH sensors), where applicable, to ensure precise and efficient chemical dosing based on real-time system requirements.
· Implement proper electrical grounding and equip the system with comprehensive circuit protection measures, such as Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs), Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELCBs), and surge protection devices, to safeguard against electrical faults, overloads, and potential shock hazards.
Testing and Commissioning
- Carry out initial system flushing and priming of the chemical dosing units to remove any residual debris and ensure readiness for operation.
- Perform comprehensive hydrostatic pressure testing and functionality verification across the entire system to confirm leak-free performance and proper water circulation under operating conditions.
- Calibrate each chemical dosing pump in accordance with the specified dosing rates, ensuring accurate chemical delivery aligned with design parameters and manufacturer guidelines.
- Verify all electrical connections for correctness, continuity, and safety compliance; conduct functional testing of operational safety features including overload protection, emergency stops, and alarm indicators.
Safety Signage and Training
- Install clear, durable, and highly visible safety signage in the vicinity of the chemical dosing system, indicating hazard classifications, emergency response instructions, PPE requirements, and contact details for responsible personnel.
- Deliver targeted operational and safety training to building maintenance and facility staff, covering emergency shutdown procedures, safe chemical handling and refilling practices, and routine inspection and maintenance protocols.
Handover and Documentation
- Submit comprehensive documentation including the operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, as-built drawings reflecting actual site installation, manufacturer’s warranty certificates, and product datasheets.
- Provide a detailed Work Method Statement outlining the installation, safety measures, testing, and commissioning processes followed during the project execution.
Post-Installation Safety Review
- Conduct a final site safety audit upon completion of installation to verify full compliance with occupational health, environmental, and equipment-specific safety standards.
- Prepare and submit complete safety compliance documentation, including signed inspection checklists, risk assessments, safety data sheets (SDS), and personnel certification records for those involved in the installation and commissioning activities.
