2.
Scope of Work
The
contractor shall execute the following works:
2.1
Pre-Execution Requirements
- Submit Method Statement (MoS), Risk
Assessment (RA), and Work Schedule for approval prior to
mobilization.
- Obtain necessary permits (DM, DCD, OA, etc.) if
required.
- Arrange safe isolation of tanks (with FM team support)
and coordinate draining of existing water.
- Provide PPE, safety signage, and ventilation
arrangements as per UAE HSE requirements.
2.2
Preparation & Demolition
- Remove and dispose of existing damaged lamination
completely.
- Dry out the tank thoroughly and ensure complete
dehydration.
- Grind, clean, and level all RCC surfaces (walls, floor)
to remove laitance, algae, loose particles, and old resin residues.
- Shift all debris and waste to DM-approved disposal
yard and submit disposal receipt to OA.
2.3
Surface Treatment
- Remove all dust and contaminants using industrial
vacuum/air blower.
- Apply primer resin coat (approved resin type)
ensuring complete coverage without voids.
2.4
GRP Lamination & Finishing
- Apply first layer of chopped strand mat (CSM) –
min. 450 GSM – impregnated with resin using woollen rollers.
- Apply second layer of CSM – min. 450 GSM – fully
saturated with resin; use metallic roller to remove air bubbles and ensure
bonding.
- Allow sufficient curing time between layers to control
exothermic reaction and achieve proper bonding.
- Apply additional layers if required to achieve
specified minimum lamination thickness (typically 4-6 mm).
- Apply final gel coat (topcoat) of approved
food-grade quality for potable water application.
- Ensure smooth finish, free from pinholes, sharp edges,
or delamination.
2.5
Testing & Commissioning
- Conduct visual inspection with OA/consultant for
workmanship approval.
- Perform leak test before handover.
- Disinfect and flush the tank as per DM potable water
guidelines before reinstatement.
3.
Exclusions
- Civil works (chipping, structural repairs) unless
specifically instructed.
- Ceiling lamination or overhead work.
- Third-party inspection fees (if required, will be
treated as variation).
- Water draining/refilling (to be coordinated by FM team
unless agreed otherwise).
4.
Deliverables
- Method Statement, Risk Assessment, Material Data Sheet
(MDS) for approval before start.
- Waste disposal certificates from DM yard.
- Completion report with photos before and after
lamination.
- Warranty certificate post-completion.
5.
Completion Time
- Work to be completed within 30–40 working days
from LPO & advance payment.
6.
Warranty
- 10-year warranty
against blistering, delamination, or leakage of GRP lining.

Terms & Condition
No Subcontracting: In accordance to Jointly Owned Property Law No.6,2019, Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement, the vendor/contractor may not use any subcontractor to perform any of his obligations under this work order. Unless:
(a) Vendor has obtained the prior written consent of SAGA to the use of the subcontractor, and
(b) Vendor has entered into a separate written agreement with the subcontractor which requires the subcontractor to agree to and abide by all the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
The Community shall be deemed to be a third-party beneficiary of any such agreement between the vendor and a permitted subcontractor.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the vendor shall not be relieved of any of its duties or obligations under this Agreement as a result of entering into a written agreement with a permitted subcontractor.
Payment will be done after work completion upon submitting the invoice along with work completion/service reports/warranty certificates.
